Robert “Bob” Orin Johnson
Robert “Bob” Orin Johnson was born on August 20, 1948 to Emelyn and Howard “Bud” Johnson in Montevideo MN, Bob died peacefully Monday January 22, 2024 at home in Jackson MN as a result of pancreatic cancer. Bob was raised in Milan MN and graduated from Milan High School in 1966. A graduate of Moorhead State University, he was a talented artist, sign painter, and art teacher in Jackson public schools for 34 years. He was a “car guy” who spent his life in and around cars - from racing cars to painting and hand lettering many sprint cars, modifieds, and late model race cars. As a member of the Black Knights Car Club, he enjoyed restoring hot rods and attending car shows in his 1956 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery which won many awards over the years. Bob was known for his sense of humor and kindness.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Emelyn (Monson) and Howard, and his sister Mary Carol Jensen. He is survived by his loving wife Becky Johnson and children: Matt Johnson & Meredith Leary Johnson of St. Paul and grandsons Jack and Cole Johnson, Ryan Johnson & Alexandra Cortes of Minneapolis, Benjaman Johnson of Broomfield CO, and Damion “Bubba” Reed of Willmar. Also survived by his brother Butch Johnson & Billee Kraut of Hopkins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by memorial services at 11:00 a.m., and lunch to follow at the Jackson United Methodist Church, 900 North Highway in Jackson, MN, with Pastor Russ Steele officiating.
