Richard Jandera

Richard Jandera, age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson, MN. Burial will be in the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, MN.

Richard George Jandera went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024. He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and a most faithful servant.

Richard was born on July 11, 1945 to George and Agnes (Cihak) Jandera in Jackson, Minnesota at Halloran Hospital. He graduated from Lakefield High School, then from the University of Minnesota, and went on to serve in the US Army from 1966 to 1971. On August 11, 1973 he married Sheryl Rademacher. They made their home on the Jandera Farm outside of Lakefield where he farmed until the mid-80s. Richard enjoyed antique shopping, coin collecting, and Dr. Pepper. He was active in his church community, serving both the parish and the cemetery for years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sheryl, their son, Bernard (Jenny) Jandera, granddaughters, Natalie (15) and Allison (13) Jandera, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harlan and Sandy Rademacher, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and their husbands, Veronica (Norman) Balcik, MaryAnn (John) Johnson, and Rose Marie (Gordon) Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson, MN. Casket bearers will be Harlan Rademacher, Merlyn Hodnefield, and Larry Henning. Burial will be in the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, MN.
