Nominations are about to open for cheerleaders for the 45th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games Cheerleaders. Morgan Strauss of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce says they’ll begin accepting nominations December 1st…

“Eight individuals that live in Dickinson county and those nominations will be open December 1st all the way through December 31st, and then you’ll be able to vote. We haven’t quite set those dates yet for voting but it will be the first week of January, so we’re really excited for this anniversary year to see what nominations we get through.”

She says there will be couple of ways to submit nominations…

“You can stop in the office or check out U of O Winter Games Facebook page or we’ll have it on our Okoboji Chamber page as well, so. Watch for our social media and then if you’d like to stop in person, that is just fine as well.”

Strauss adds registrations for the various events are coming in at a rapid pace…

“I will say we’re probably about half way full so if you’re wanting to participate in those events that weekend I would head over to UofOWinterGames.com and get that submitted right away.”

Strauss says they also have a good selection of Winter Games apparel available for purchase.

U of O Winter Games will be held January 23rd-26th, 2025
