Two new council members sworn in Tuesday night
Two new council members were sworn in at last (Tuesday) night’s Jackson City Council Meeting. Nicole Hall was sworn in as a Ward 2 Alderwoman and Marcus Polz was sworn in as a new Ward 1 Alderman. Polz said it was an honor to be sworn in…
“It was an honor to know that people put their faith in and elected me to the position. I’m really excited and look forward to being part of a fun group of people. A lot of positivity in the room and it was just a really overall good experience yesterday.”
Cay Gjertson gave the council an update on a Jackson Art Mural Project. They have received a grant for the project and are in the early stages of planning. More information will be available at a later time.
In action items, the Council approved the bids for the Downtown Underground Electric Conversion Project. The low bids for all four components of the project came in at just over $203,000, which is about 5% over the estimate. They also approved the second reading of an ordinance pertaining to Water Service Clarification and Liquor License Applications and approved resolutions supporting the TAP application for the Sunrise Estates Trail and authorizing CARES Act Funds transfer from the General Fund to the Revolving Loan Fund.
The council also approved deferring existing revolving loan funds payments.
The next meeting of the Jackson City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19th.
