State reports first flu death of the season
(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota health officials are reporting the first flu-related death of the season.
The State Health Department's latest update listed the new death Thursday. The age and location of the victim are no longer released. Influenza activity has been very low so far - with two hospitalizations in the last week and a total of 21.
There were no new flu outbreaks in schools and long-term care facilities in the last week. Influenza B is the most common strain.
