Shoulder work expected on Hwy 86 in Lakefield starting Monday
Motorists traveling on Highway 86 through Lakefield will see some shoulder closures starting on Monday. MnDOT says there will be signage and traffic control, but they do not expect impacts on driving lanes.
The shoulder closures are in place so that crews can conduct drilling for soil borings which are part of the Highway 86 reconstruction project planned for 2022 in Lakefield. Borings are needed to determine soil properties before reconstructing the roadway for the project.
MnDOT urges all travelers to drive with caution, especially in work zones. The shoulder closures are expected to last around one week.
