Robbery In Jackson Leads To Chase And Arrest

(Jackson)- A Jackson robbery led to a police chase and arrest on November 8th.

Deputies responded to a robbery in Jackson on the 8th. An 84 year old female reported a male forced his way into her apartment. Once inside, the male duct taped her mouth shut, duct taped her wrists together and stole her cell phone and $60 cash from her purse. The suspect then stole her 2009 Chevy Impala, then drove to Dollar General. The victim was able to cut the tape off her wrists and call 911. The car was found in the Dollar General parking lot, and after leaving the parking lot the male was pulled over. He then fled on foot, crawled under a pickup and was arrested. The male was identified as Anthony Hemphill, age 25, from Jackson.  He is being held on Aggravated Robbery, 1st Degree Burglary, 5th Degree Assault with 2 Prior Convictions, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Fleeing A Peace Officer on Foot.  Hemphill appeared in Court on Wednesday morning.  Bail was set at $150,000 with conditions, or $400,000 without.
