(Spirit Lake)– A new report from the Iowa Hospital Association details the impacts of Lakes Regional Healthcare on Dickinson county’s economy.

The data shows LRH generates 554 jobs accounting for roughly six percent of all jobs in Dickinson county with total wages of $30.8 million, or about 8.1 percent of the county’s overall wages. The report also shows Lakes Regional Healthcare provides nearly $10 million in community benefits to about 4,000 people in Dickinson county, including things such as free and reduced cost services like immunizations and health screenings, charity care and uncompensated care.

Data in the IHA study was compiled from information provided by the hospital to the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Bureau of Economic Analysis.
