New guidance will allow nursing home residents to attend outside celebrations

(St. Paul, MN) -- New guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health will allow nursing home residents to attend one-day holiday celebrations.
State health officials loosened COVID restrictions so residents can spend Easter or Passover with family. The C-D-C issued new recommendations this week for nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Most residents can leave for less than 24 hours without having to quarantine when they return as long they weren't in contact with someone infected.
Masks, social distancing, and hand washing are still encouraged.
