Mon 9-19-2022

(St. Paul)- Thirteen Minnesota Cities, including Jackson, will be receiving funding from the DOT as part of a statewide plan to help create active transportation plans. These awards are meant to connect local communities with consultants, who will help to maximize the potential of local trails and pedestrian walkways.

Nancy Daubenberger with the MnDOT says that these grants in part will help with, “planning, education, engineering and infrastructure investments related to walking, biking and rolling.”

Jackson received a grant to develop a master plan for its trail system to connect to county parks and the trail system to the south, as well as Belmont County Park and Kilen Woods State Park to the north.
