Mayo Clinic Locations are Closing
Thu 5-27-2021
After an in-depth evaluation, Mayo Clinic Health System has decided not to reopen its clinics in Armstrong, Iowa, as well as Lake Crystal, Sherburn, Trimont and Truman, Minnesota. These clinics are now permanently closed. These part-time clinics had been temporarily closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff who had been providing care at these clinics prior to COVID-19 were redeployed to Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Mankato or St. James and they will continue their employment. Patients will continue to see their care provider at one of these nearby clinics.
Regional Vice President of the Southwest MN Mayo Clinic Health System James Hebl, MD says they are confident in their ability to continue meeting patient needs. This will include virtual and in person care access models. Mayo Clinic Health System has initiated innovative ways for patients to access a full range of health services including a new mobile health clinic that will soon travel across Southern MN increasing outreach and bringing health care directly to patients. Other services include telehealth, patient online services, Express Care online and a nurse phone line that will be available 24 hours a day.
