Many Construction Projects Are Coming Along On Schedule In Jackson
(Jackson)- Local construction projects are on schedule and some even hope to finish this year.
Dave Schmidt says the Subway and Cabin Coffee building are on schedule, and still plan to open next March. Schmidt says, "the frame is up and the lot got the first lift of asphalt. The plan is to put the trusses up then to get the structure enclosed so they can work on the inside." The building will be a new location for Subway, will add Cabin Coffee, and two other spots for businesses that have yet to be filled. Schmidt says they are working with a number of businesses which may decide to fill those two spots, but it is not concrete as of now.
Matt Skaret of the City of Jackson says that road construction projects are still moving forward as planned, with curb and gutter projects being finished across the board. He also says some of the MnDOT curb bump outs are now finished, saying, "the bump outs are there to increase pedestrian safety," and to "narrow the road to help slow drivers down."
Skaret also talked about the local Burger King reopening, scheduled for mid-December. The site building inspector says the building is coming along well, and they can still expect for a reopening this year.
