Local Schools Boosting Substitute Teacher Pay
(Undated)- Multiple schools in the area have boosted their substitute teacher incentives in the past few weeks, Windom and Jackson being notable examples. Jackson recently approved increasing the substitute teacher pay rate to $150 a day, also noting how to get a teaching license if interested. Following that, Windom recently boosted their substitute pay to $155 a day, and subs who work 11 or more days per month will see $200 per day. Retired subs will also make more, at $175 per day instead of the boosted $155.
The nationwide shortage of teachers prompted the move, in the hopes that more subs and higher qualified teachers become interested in the field.
