Local Law Enforcement Agencies Warn Of Feature In New iPhone Update
(Undated)- Local law enforcement agencies are sharing information for iPhone users. They say, If you have an iPhone and have done the recent iOS 17 update, they have set a new feature called NameDrop defaulted to ON. This feature allows the sharing of your contact info just by bringing your phones close together. To shut this off go to Settings, General, AirDrop, Bringing Devices Together. Change to OFF.
Sharing information specifically for parents, they say to not forget to change these settings after the update on your children's phones to help keep them safe as well.
For more information, the Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office on Facebook has a post that gives some websites for more information, but if you'd like to learn more, call your local law enforcement agency.
