The Lakefield Golf Course will be hosting the Madden Hein Memorial Tournament this coming Sunday. 

Alex Hein says some friends wanted to put the event together. 

Madden Hein passed away in April after falling out of a hotel window in Sioux Falls. The 1-year-old boy saved at least three lives through organ donation days later. 

This is just the latest local tribute or event supporting the family since that tragic accident. The “Support for the Hein Family” GoFundMe set up soon after has now raised more than $85,000. Many local partners came together for a Community Cookout in June that raised nearly $17,000. Several different types of tributes and supportive merchandise could be found throughout the summer and now into the fall. 

Hein says it all means a lot. 

The tournament will be a 9-hole Scramble with 8-inch cups and four-person teams can sign up for $160 per team with a limit of 18 teams. 

Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. with shotgun start at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday
