Jackson Council talk parks
Jackson Parks took up much of the discussion at last night’s Jackson City Council meeting. The current state of Benes Park was discussed. Due to flooding and other issues, the park has not been utilized over the last few years. City staff will contact Kim Benes to determine the best course of action going forward.
The Council also discussed the possibility of creating a new disc golf course or a dog park in Jackson. Both were high priorities in the most recent active living survey in Jackson. There are several possible locations, and the Park Board is continuing to work on viable options.
In other action, the Council approved the engineering services agreement for the airport hangar runway project, approved extending the cold-weather rule for city utilities for another month and allowing overnight parking for resident at the Highrise apartment while their parking lot is resurfaced.
Mayor Wayne Walter also read a proclamation honoring the Jackson County Central class of 2020.
All council members were in attendance either in person or remotely.
