Hot Weather Headed Our Way
(Undated)– Some hot, humid weather is headed our way. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the region from Noon until 8:00 pm Tuesday. Forecasters say some of the hottest weather of the season will be possible with heat index values Tuesday afternoon of 100 to 105 degrees possible. The heat index combines the actual air temperature with the humidity for a “feels like” indicator. Those who will be working outdoors and involved in strenuous activities should take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Health officials also say it’s extremely important to be aware of symptoms associated with heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected Wednesday and Thursday before temperatures go back into the 90’s Friday and through the upcoming weekend.
