Gov, Senate disagree on COVID orders
(St. Paul, MN) -- Republicans leaders are not on board with Governor Walz's request to put some core provisions of his COVID orders into state law.
Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says they will not support having a mask mandate in Minnesota law. He prefers encouraging people to wear them until the danger of the virus is over.
Gazelka is also not in favor of putting a moratorium on evictions into state law with a specific timeline. He says landlords have not been able to evict tenants for about ten months and "there is a point where you're gonna destroy the person that owns that building."
