The fishing season is now open and there has been a lot of fishing activity going on in the area. Mike Gruhlke with the DNR says many of our local lakes have seen fishermen...

“I did see some activity on Little Spirit Lake, Round Lake, and to a degree up on Fish Lake too, it was a good opener, I did see a fair number of walleye caught, I heard a lot about some northern being caught and then released, and also limited crappie and perch being kept as well.”

There was a lot of fish caught on surrounding lakes and the fish season will continue.
