(Emmetsburg)– The annual St. Patrick’s celebration in Emmetsburg is this coming weekend. Stephanie Mehan of the St. Patrick’s Association says the events get underway Friday…3-11-25 mehan cut 1 

“Friday morning we start things off at 9:30 with our chamber coffee located at the St. Pat’s headquarters. We have the fish fry at the VFW, corn beef and cabbage is being served out at the Shores of Five Island and then our famous St. Pat’s Bean Bag Tournament starts at 5:30 in our heated tent along with some live music starting at 9:00.”

She says Saturday will be a full day of events…3-11-25 mehan cut 2 

“We start off the day with the Around The Loch Scholarship Run out at the Iowa Lakes Community College; there’s the Bloody Mary Bash at the Shores of Five Island; the Kid’s Zone is at the heated tent, it starts at 10:00 am; we have face painting, a tractor pull and crown making there; we have craft beer tasting in our heated tent. New this year we have the Touch a Truck that’s taking place at 10:30 on 10th Street; and then we have our famous parade starting at 1:30, followed by the Social Gathering of The Clans and we are showing The Luck Of The Irish movie at Riviera Theatre so we hope people can show up to that. At 5:30 we have the Rowan McCartney and Friends Irish Band playing in the heated tent followed by New Trick taking the stage at 8:30.”

Mehan says additional activities are planned for Sunday…3-11-25 mehan cut 3 

“The Rotary Pancake Breakfast begins at 8:00 am and the trap shooting starts at 12:00 pm out at Sportsman’s Park.”

This year’s dignitary is Cathal Crowe TD of the Irish Parliament.
