Crop Conditions Remain Variable Across The Region
(Lakefield, Mn.)– Crop conditions around the region remain highly variable. That word from Jim Nesseth of Extended Ag Services in Lakefield…
“We’ve got some drowned out areas and we’ve got some corn that’s yellow and uneven and, you know, it seems to be starting to come around. We’ve had some nice, probably warmer weather than we wanted there for a couple, three days, but soil temps are starting to be pretty consistent in that 70 degree range and, you know, that’s about perfect as far as crop development. So things are kind of straightening out.”
Nesseth says there is still some re-planting of soybeans going on, but he says it’s getting kind of late for that. He says side dressing nitrogen on the corn continues along with some hay cutting that’s been going on in recent days.
