Crash Seriously Injures Two In Hersey Township

(Hersey Township)- A crash in the early afternoon last Friday sent two to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol were notified of a crash at 12:32 pm in Hersey Township in Nobles County in which a 2010 Saab 9-3 was traveling eastbound on Highway 60 when it collided with a 2007 Peterbilt Tractor Trailer, which was northbound on County Road 1, approaching Highway 60.

The Saab, driven by 20 year old Edvin Bayron Sandoval of St. James, took serious damage, and Edvin and Hugo Vicente Sandoval, age 18 also of St. James were taken to Sanford Sioux Falls and North Memorial Hospital respectively. Both sustained what were described as life threatening injuries.

The 2007 Peterbilt was driven by Shawn Lain Munns age 65 of Hawarden, Iowa, and he was not sent to the hospital.

The Brewster Fire Department, Heron Lake EMS, Worthington Fire Department and EMS, Nobles County Sheriff's Office, and Sanford and North Memorial AirCare all assisted at the scene.
