(Jackson)- There is a burn ban in effect for today in Jackson County, it goes from 9 am to 7 pm. Today will be a windy one, with 20-30 mile an hour winds most of the day and gusts all the way up to 50 miles per hour.

Fire Departments in Jackson County have been busy this week, and dry conditions coupled with strong winds can cause fires to race very quickly. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says that the ban will end at 7 pm in conjunction with the end of the Wind Advisory in our area.
