Breaking News: Man Charged for Shooting in Truman

Kyle Jonathan Liford has been charged with 5 felonies in connection to a shooting in Truman on February 27th. The shooting happened during an apparent domestic dispute. The complaint states that a witness identified Liford as the shooter. Liford fled the scene before officers arrived. Martin County Sheriff deputy Markus Murphy was able to talk to the victim before she was transferred to a hospital and she also identified Liford as the shooter. The charges include attempted Murder - 2nd Degree - With Intent but not premeditated which carries a possible sentence of up to 20 years' imprisonment, Assault-2nd Degree-Dangerous Weapon, Dangerous Weapons-Reckless Discharge of a firearm within a municipality, Dangerous Weapons-Intentional Discharge that endangers safety, and failure to render aid to a victim of a shooting. The Martin County Sheriff’s office put out a warrant for Liford’s arrest and he was taken into custody on Sunday March 2nd without incident. He is currently being held at the Martin County Jail.
