Blizzard Conditions Possible Across the Region

Mon 3-3-2025

(Undated)– The National Weather Service is warning of the possibility of blizzard conditions across a good deal of the region late Tuesday into Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for a good deal of the region, including the Iowa Great Lakes, from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Forecasters say a strong winter storm will begin impacting the area already by late tonight (Mon.) with rain becoming likely. Rain and even some thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday. But by Tuesday evening, cold air will wrap into the back side of the storm with a quick transition to snow. Only a couple of inches of snowfall is expected but forecasters say it will combine with a very strong wind that could gust to 60 mph at times through Wednesday morning, producing blizzard conditions with very poor visibility in blowing snow. Another winter storm could impact the region the latter part of the week. Those with travel plans Tuesday night into Wednesday should closely monitor later forecasts.
