$300M Opioid Response Bill Signed Into Law
(St. Paul, MN)- Minnesota’s governor has signed a $300 million opioid response bill into law. Money from a multi-state lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies will be used to fund education, treatment, prevention, and recovery efforts. The 26-billion-dollar national settlement with Johnson & Johnson and distributors Cardinal, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen was announced in February. The size of each state’s share was based on the number of overdose deaths, the number of people with substance use disorder, the number of opioids prescribed, and the population of the state.
