Wounded Huskies Still Hunting State Championship

Thu 11-14-2024

The Jackson County Central football team is a wounded pack that is still determined to keep chasing a state championship.

HIGHLIGHTS: JCC FB HiLites Pre Semi 2024

JCC will meet Kimball Area in the Class AA State Semifinal round at US Bank Stadium on Friday morning. It’s the third battle of unbeatens that the Huskies will play in this season during their third straight trip to the semifinal round.

Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says the main message has not changed for his 11-0 squad.

FULL INTERVIEW: JCC FB vs Kimball 11-13-24

JCC must play without key starters Roman Voss and Ben Gallagher after injuries they suffered during the Huskies’ quarterfinal victory. Voss is the leading Huskies rusher and passer this season. The junior four-star athlete already has the school record for career touchdowns as well. Gallagher is also a junior who has made several key plays at wide receiver and cornerback this season including a touchdown catch and interception just last week.

Kimball Area is 11-0 as well and this is their first appearance in the state playoffs since 1991. Fourth-year head coach Clay Anderson used to be in charge of JCC rival Pipestone but now he leads the Cubs.

Coach Schuller says that means JCC is actually rather familiar with what their opponent will try to do this week.

Our coverage begins at around 8:30 a.m. on Friday with kickoff at 9:00 a.m.

There is no school in the JCC district on Friday so people can go support the Huskies.

Information about how to purchase tickets to the game and much more is available online.
