Thu 6-25-2020

JACKSON - The 42nd annual AGCO Jackson Nationals start their three-day run at Jackson Motorplex Thursday. For the fourth straight year, the World of Outlaws will be part of the event.

The RaceSaver sprint cars will be the support class on Thursday, with the Wisconsin WingLESS Sprint Series serving as the support class on Friday and Saturday.

The World of Outlaws will be running for the biggest sprint car purse of the year to this point. Thursday's and Friday's features pay $8,000 to win, while Saturday's finale will pay $30,000.

Brad Sweet has been the winner in two of the three trips to the Jackson Nationals, winning last year and in 2017.

He also captured a preliminary night win last year and was the 410 feature winner on May 15 during the lone event for the division this season at Jackson Motorplex.

Donny Schatz was the AGCO Jackson Nationals champion in 2018.

Sweet is this year's series points leader, holding a 66-point advantage over Schatz.

Logan Schuchart is in third place (72 points out), followed by Carson Macedo (122 points) and Sheldon Haudenschild (134).

The event format for the World of Outlaws is the same as last year. Each driver will add to his or her point total each time they enter the track for a race the first two nights. The finale will be lined up based on accumulated preliminary point totals.

A limited number of fans will be allowed into the grandstand.
