Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey will start the Class A State Tournament as the #4 seed against #5 seed Nevis at Target Center on Thursday at 1pm 

The Wolverines are 27-3 after winning the Section 2A championship. The Tigers are 23-7 after taking home the Section 5A title. 

Mountain Lake Public Schools is taking Thursday off to allow students and staff to attend the boys basketball game. The district is off this Friday as well for a previously-scheduled staff work day. 

A charter bus will be available for adults and students in grades 7-12 for each day of the tournament. Sign up opened on Monday and will close on Tuesday at noon. The cost is $45 and that does not include a game ticket. You can call the district office to sign up.

 

Top seed Cherry or unseeded Russell-Tyler-Ruthton would be the next opponent.

All of the Class A first round games are being played at Target Center on Thursday. The semifinals and championship game moves to Williams Arena with the consolation bracket playing out at Concordia University.
