Windom Area girls hockey persevered for the 4-1 victory over Fairmont Area in Thursday’s Section 3A tournament quarterfinal in Windom. 

Cardinals junior goalie Ilana Moeller turned away 51 shots on goal for the number five seed but the fourth-seeded Eagles advanced. Victoria Robillard scored two goals with one assist and teammate Madyson Fredin netted one goal with a pair of assists. Fairmont Area finishes the season with a 7-18 overall record. Windom Area is 11-14-1 and will play at top-seeded Marshall at 16-8-1 after the Tigers earned a bye into the semifinal round. 

Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday at Red Baron Arena.
