Wacker receives GPAC honors again
SIOUX CITY - Jackson County Central graduate Lacey Wacker, a junior with the Northwestern College volleyball team, has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season.
She averaged 11.5 assists per set while leading her team to road sweeps over both Doane and Hastings.
Wacker put up 35 assists vs. Doane and 34 against Hastings as she directed a Red Raider offense that hit .366 for the week. Wacker also served three aces and averaged 2.3 digs per set.
Northwestern has clinched the GPAC regular-season title, its seventh title since the start of the league in 2000.
The Red Raiders are 15-0 in conference play and 27-0 overall. They were ranked first in the latest NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Poll.
Northwestern closes its regular-season schedule at home Wednesday vs. No. 17 Concordia (Neb.). The GPAC tournament starts Saturday.
