Vikings slated to open at home vs. Packers

Fri 5-8-2020

EAGAN - For the first time in their 60-year history, the Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to open their regular-season schedule by hosting the Green Bay Packers. That's scheduled for a 12 p.m. kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 13 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Minnesota has one of the toughest road schedules in the NFL with three prime-time games on the road.

Based on the 2019 records of their road opponents, the Vikings have the second-hardest road strength of schedule (.566).

Right now, the Vikings are scheduled to play three prime time games, all on the road, a Sunday night game at Seattle, a Monday night contest at Chicago and New Orleans at 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. That's a Friday, but counts as their Thursday game this season.

Minnesota plays only one outdoor game during the final seven weeks of the season, and that's at Tampa. The regular season finale is at Detroit on Sunday, Jan. 3.

The Vikings' bye week is Week 7.

Preseason home opponents are Houston and Seattle. In between are road games at Cincinnati and Cleveland.

You'll be able to hear all the Vikings games this season again on Xtreme Country 105.7.
