Two ELC student-athletes test positive

ESTHERVILLE – The Estherville Lincoln Central has announced that two student-athletes, a JV-varsity softball player and a freshman baseball player, have tested positive for Covid-19.
The family of the athletes made the teams aware of the positive test results on Friday.
The teams were made aware that testing took place earlier in the week and the athletes began their quarantine immediately upon notification they were in primary contact of another positive case. They have not returned to practice and laborotory results confirmed the athletes tested positive.
ELC softball varsity and JV softball players will be under a 14-day quarantine period consistent with CDC guidelines and public health recommendations. They may play again on Thursday, July 9. Freshman softball will not play again this year.
ELC baseball will continue to play, with some players under a 14-day quarantine. Quarantined players can return on Wednesday. July 8.
