Thier Leads Huskies to Home Triangular Win

Kyler Thier led the Jackson County Central boys golf team to victory at the home triangular on Thursday. 

Thier shot 41 on nine holes at Jackson Golf Club to finish two strokes off the lead and over par. 

Dylan Hilpipre and Tavin Miller each shot 43 in a three-way tie for third place. Jessy Gentry posted 50 in 11th place, Gavin Pohlman had 52 to tie for 13th place, and Spencer Pigman shot 53 to tie for 15th place individually. 

The JCC boys collected a team score of 177 ahead of Pipestone Area with 179 and Worthington with 189. 

Rachel Mohr led the JCC girls to a runner-up finish. 

She tied for third with 52 to finish five strokes off the lead. 

Kendal Krumweide posted 54 in fifth place, Lily Brinkman shot 55 in sixth place, Ramsey Johnson scored 59 in eighth place, and Taylor Schultz had 69 in 13th place. 

Worthington turned in the top girls team score with 219 ahead of JCC with 220 and Pipestone was incomplete. 

The Huskies have practice on Friday at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club for the Big South Conference Championship events on Monday.
