Tavin Miller Leads Huskies to 10th Place in Fairmont

Tavin Miller led the Jackson County Central boys golf team to 10th place at the Fairmont Boys Invitational on Friday. 

Miller shot 81 on 18 holes at Rose Lake Golf Club to finish 10 strokes off the lead in a four-way tie for 12th place. Keagan Koster and Kyler Thier each shot 91 as part of a five-way tie for 47th place. Dylan Hilpipre and Gavin Pohlman each shot 99 to tie for 65th place. Jessy Gentry shot 113 in 80th place.

The JCC boys collected a team score of 362 behind Holy Family Catholic with 291, Minnewaska Area with 325, New Ulm with 326, Waseca with 327, Blue Earth Area with 328, St. Peter with 334, Luverne 339, Redwood Valley with 344, and Windom Area with 359. JCC finished ahead of Fairmont with 373, North Union with 379, Worthington with 382, and Pipestone Area with 388. 

The JCC girls team was incomplete at the Fairmont Girls Varsity Invitational. 

Rachel Mohr shot 105 on 18 holes at the Interlaken Golf Club. Ramsey Johnson shot 117 to tie for 36th place and Taylor Schultz shot 135 to tie for 59th place. 

Marshall topped the team leaderboard with 375 ahead of Fairmont with 397, Worthington with 413, Blue Earth Area with 422, Luverne with 449, Waseca with 450, St. Peter with 451, Redwood Valley with 473, and New Ulm with 488. Pipestone Area, Windom Area, and North Union were also incomplete. 

The Huskies will play in Big South Division events on Monday. The girls will play at home in Jackson and the boys will be in Pipestone.
