Tarantulas win playoff opener

JACKSON – Fourth-seeded Jackson was a 7-1 winner over fifth-seeded Truman in the opening round of the Senior League baseball playoffs Thursday at Wacker Field.
Gavin Jacobsen was the winning pitcher as he went six and one-third innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven. Andrew Boyum finished up on the mound for the Taranatulas.
Jacobsen helped his cause at the plate as he had two hits including a double.
Logan Butzon and Alex Bretzman had two hits apiece for Jackson. Payton Handevidt also had a hit.
The Tarantulas advance to play at Blue Earth at 8 p.m. Friday.
