Tarantluas upend Blue Earth
BLUE EARTH – Fourth-seeded Jackson upset top-seeded Blue Earth 5-3 in eight innings Friday as the double-elimination portion of the Senior League baseball playoffs got under way.
The Tarantluas scored two runs in the top of the second, with Blue Earth scoring one in the bottom. Jackson scored one in the fourth and Blue Earth tied it with two in the fifth.
Jackson scored two runs in the eighth inning.
Erik Hesebeck led off the inning with a hit. After two were out, Logan Butzon and Gavin Jacobsen singled, with Payton Handevidt delivering a double.
Butzon finished with four hits for the Tarantulas.
Andrew Hesebeck and Dalton Henning each had two hits including a double.
Carter Ahrens and Henning pitched for Jackson, which will play Fairmont at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Fairmont beat Windom 6-1 Friday.
