Strong field of drivers set to compete in Jackson

JACKSON – What might be the first sporting event to be held in Minnesota in nine weeks takes place in Jackson this weekend as a strong field of 410 sprint cars will be at Jackson Motorplex for the Great Lakes Shootout.
There were 63 drivers that includes many of the top 410 drivers in the country were in the qualifying draw Thursday night.
Among them were NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson.
The event was originally scheduled as an IRA sanctioned event on Friday, but expanded into the two-day Great Lakes Shootout with IRA support. IRA drivers slated to be on hand include Bill Balog, Jeremy Schultz, Jake Blackhurst, Russel Borland and Joey Moughan.
Drivers representing the World of Outlaws include Donny Schatz, Brad Sweet, Jason Sides, Daryn Pittman, Carson Macedo, Sheldon Haudenschild, Wayne Johnson and Mason Daniel.
Scheduled from the All Star Circuit of Champions include Aaron Reutzel, Cory Eliason, Zeb Wise and Brock Zearfoss, along with national notables Brian Brown, Kerry Madsen, Ian Madsen, Rico Abreu, Justin Henderson, Mark Dobmeier, Tim Kaeding, Brent Marks, and Terry McCarl.
On hand from the Pennsylvania Posse will be Anthony Macri, T.J. Stutts and Anthony Fiore.
A scheduled 305 sprint show was scratched this weekend due to the large number of 410s competing. State officials are limiting the car count. Sunday is available for a rain date if necessary.
No spectators are allowed in the grandstand or the pits either night. Both nights will feature a live video stream on Speed Shift TV.
