Roman Voss Gets Offer from University of Minnesota

Jackson County Central sophomore Roman Voss announced his first Division I college football scholarship offer on Monday. 

The offer came from the University of Minnesota led by head coach PJ Fleck. Voss posted on “X”, formerly known as Twitter, saying “After a great phone call with Coach Fleck I’m extremely blessed to receive my first D1 offer from Gopher football.” 

Voss earned District Player of the Year honors as the Huskies starting quarterback for most of the season while helping lead JCC to the Class AA semifinal round for the second year in a row. He threw for 437 yards and five touchdowns, ran for 791 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught five passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns on offense. Voss also played safety and recovered a fumble on defense. 

JCC junior playmakers Ben Dahlin and Clay Malchow also visited with the University of North Dakota of Division I FCS on Monday.
