MCW sophomore Hunter Schmidt placed 4th yesterday at the Class A MN Boys state golf tournament. He shot a 76 on day one and a 73 yesterday for a two-day total of 149. Mitchell Weber finished in 15th place with a two-day total of 159. He shot an 81 on his first day and a 78 yesterday. Both golfers will be back for the Mavericks next year. Schmidt will be a junior and Weber will be a senior. 

Two Fairmont girls' golfers also finished off their run in the State golf tourney yesterday but were only able to complete 9 holes due to lightning and rain. Solveig Senf ended up in 21st place with a two-day total of 130 and Brynn Gustafson finished in 68th place after shooting a two-day total of 151. Both of these golfers will be back for Fairmont next year. Senf will be a senior and Gustafson a junior.
