Nolan Ambrose won the individual Big South Conference championship on Friday with five other Huskies earning all-conference honors at the tournament in Jackson.

The Huskies finished fourth in the team standings with 153 points. They were only one point behind St. Peter and five points back of New Ulm. Marshall won the team title with 236.5 points. 

Ambrose dominated the 139-pound bracket with a trio of pins where none of his matches lasted for a full minute.

Kyler Thier finished second at 107 pounds with two wins by pin before losing a decision in the finals.

All-conference honors also went to third-place finishers Kayden Eller at 114, Isaac Rodriguez at 121, Seth Stai at 160 and Ryan Haley at 189 pounds. Michael Hansen earned fourth at 285 pounds and Braydan Winter got fifth at 215 pounds. 

JCC is headed to another tournament in Mapleton on Saturday. We have the Huskies on KKOJ this coming Thursday when they host Windom/Mountain Lake.
