The MCW volleyball team took 2nd at the Adrian/Ellsworth invitational on Saturday. The Mavericks defeated Central MN Christian 2 games to 1. Game scores were 20 to 25, 25-22 and 15-11. They lost to Adrian Ellsworth 25 to 17 and 25 to 13 and then defeated Hills Beaver Creek 25 to 20 and 25 to 20. Liv Borchardt was 25 for 28 serving and had 10 kills for the Mavericks. Maddie Carlson was 18 of 20 from the service line with four aces and she had 11 kills. Emily Anderson led the Mavericks with 22 kills and seven solo blocks. She was 18-for-20 from the service line. Setter Addy Wohlhuter had 23 set assists and was 20 of 24 from the service line with 4 aces. Emily Schettler distributed 17 set assists and went 10 of 12 serving for MCW, Courtney Anderson completed 9 of 10 serves, while Cami Clow added six kills and three solo blocks.
