MCW grads win awards at Hamline

ST. PAUL - Two Martin County West graduates have been named as award winners with the Hamline University women's basketball team.

Reilly Geistfeld was named the team's Most Valuable Player, while Alyssa Williamson was a co-winner of the Gym Rat award.

Geistfeld, a 5-foot-10 senior, led the Pipers in scoring with 15.6 points per game and rebounds with 9.2 per contest. She was the leading rebounder in the MIAC and was seventh in scoring.

Geistfeld reached double figures in 21 out of 26 games this season and had 10 double-doubles.

She finished her career at Hamline seventh on the all-time scoring list with 1,314 points and sixth in rebounds with 773.

Williamson, a 5-6 freshman, saw action in all 26 games for the Pipers. She played more than 12 minutes per game, averaging 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds. Williamson also had a total of 22 assists and 10 steals.

Hamline had a 15-11 record, the most wins for the Pipers in more than 10 years.
