WABASSO – Second-seeded Wabasso was a 48-0 winner over seventh-seeded Martin County West in the first round of the Section 3A football playoffs Tuesday.

Joseph Forsberg led the Mavericks in rushing with 40 yards on 23 carries.

Hunter Taylor scored two touchdowns for the Rabbits, one on a one-yard run and he also returned a fumble eight yards for a score. Nick Marotzke also two TDs, on runs of 9 and 12 yards.

MCW finishes the season with an 0-5 record.

In other Section 3A games Tuesday, Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye 41-22 and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton shut out Adrian/Ellsworth 18-0. Murray County Central had a bye.
