Mayor Marcus Polz proclaimed December 31, 2024 to be JCC Huskies Football Championship Team Day in the City of Jackson.
The mayor says in this week’s proclamation that it is in honor of the team’s outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the community. He also mentioned unique and cherished traditions including this year’s lucky watermelon, Carrie's candy, and caramel apples. The mayor says the Huskies exemplified the motto “it takes a team to achieve the dream” and brought immense pride and joy to the City of Jackson. He recognized the leadership, guidance, and support of the entire coaching staff and athletic trainer by name along with the cheerleaders as well.
The 13-0 Huskies dominated most of their opponents during the season before overcoming several key injuries to complete the first undefeated season in JCC history by winning the Class AA State Championship.

WHEREAS, the JCC Huskies Football Team has achieved an extraordinary milestone by winning the Class AA State Championship with a triumphant victory of 42-26 over Staples-Motley; and
WHEREAS, the Huskies have completed their first ever undefeated season in JCC history, finishing with a remarkable record of 13-0; and
WHEREAS, the team has demonstrated exceptional resilience and unity, overcoming numerous injuries and rallying together to achieve their ultimate goal; and
WHEREAS, the Huskies have outscored their opponents by an impressive margin of 423-42 during the regular season, showcasing their dominance and skill on the field; and
WHEREAS, the success of the Huskies has been fueled by unique and cherished traditions, including the lucky watermelon, Carrie's candy, and caramel apples, which have become symbols of their journey and camaraderie; and
WHEREAS, it takes a team to achieve the dream, and the Huskies have exemplified this through their dedication and teamwork; and
WHEREAS, the achievements of the JCC Huskies Football Team have brought immense pride and joy to the City of Jackson and its residents, inspiring our community with their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship; and
WHEREAS, the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Tom Schuller and Assistant Coaches Nolan Schuller, Jay Moore, Trey Diggs, Charlie Clarksean, Shadrach Wacker, Easton Bahr, Wade Wacker, and Rudy Voss have been instrumental in the team's success; and
WHEREAS, the support of Athletic Trainer Caitlin Place, who has ensured the health and readiness of the players throughout the season, has been invaluable; and
WHEREAS, the cheerleaders, who have tirelessly boosted the team's morale and energized the crowd at every game, have played a crucial role in the team's journey;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Marcus Polz, Mayor of Jackson, Minnesota, do hereby proclaim December 31st, 2024, as JCC Huskies Football Championship Team Day in the City of Jackson, in honor of their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to our community.
