The Martin County West Mavericks dropped to 1-6 on the season after losing to the USC Rebels 14 to 0.

It was Senior night for MCW and it was a battle of defenses in the first half with the Mavericks coming up just short on their second possession of the night. Pierce Rohman would end up being half a yard short of the endzone after a great effort on 4th and goal from 7 yards out.

The score was 0 to 0 at halftime and then USC would put up the first score of the game in the 3rd quarter when Noah Gonzalez would run it in from 10 yards out making it 6 to 0. The Rebels failed on the 2-point conversion. The Rebels scored on their second possession of the second half when Gonzalez ran it in from 1 yard out and then would also convert the 2-point play to make it 14-0. The Mavericks would get one more shot to try to get points on the board in the 4th quarter, but their drive would be stalled on an interception on 4th down. The Rebels were able to run out the clock and win 14 to 0.

Maddex Faber was 8 of 17 through the air for 88 yards. Rohman led the Mavericks on the ground with 66 yards on 15 carries while Faber had 17 yards on 10 carries. Kaedin Lange would finish with 20 yards on 3 carries. Faber led the defense with 21 tackles while Kayden Glidden had 9, Rohman, Michael McCorkell and Hank Olson all finished with 7 tackles on the night.
