The Martin County West softball team is now on a five-game winning streak after another pair of victories at home on Saturday. 

Maddie Carlson tossed 10 strikeouts to lead the Mavericks to a 9-2 win over Adrian/Ellsworth. She went the distance while giving up two hits and six walks. 

MCW piled six runs into the bottom of the first inning. The Dragons scored both of their runs in the fifth. MCW scored three more in the sixth. 

Carlson, Bailey Larson, Courtney Anderson, and Hannah Rosenberg each had two hits. Larson also batted in three runs to lead the Mavericks. 

Larson helped lead the Mavericks to the 11-5 win over Hayfield. 

MCW started with three runs in the top of the first inning. The Vikings scored one run in the bottom of the first. The Mavericks scored twice to extend the lead to 5-1 in the third. Hayfield scored four runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game. MCW added four runs in the fifth and another pair in the sixth for the final score. 

The Mavericks collected 15 hits in the second game. Larson collected three hits, batted in two runs, and scored twice herself. Rowan Faber plated a pair of runs. Rosenberg, Emily Schettler, and Emily Anderson each had multiple hits. 

Carlson had three hits at the plate. She also allowed five runs on four hits in the circle while striking out five and walking a pair.
