Mon 6-28-2021

(Jackson, MN) Logan Schuchart defended his title as the winner of the 43rd annual AGCO Jackson Nationals main event to earn the $50,000 top prize. Schuchart took the lead on the start of the 35-lap race, but a caution on the opening lap set up a complete restart. David Gravel capitalized by darting from third into the lead after hitting the bottom in turns one and two and executing a slide job on Schuchart in turns three and four. Gravel led the first seven laps before the second-and-final caution came out on Lap 8 when Donny Schatz, who was running fifth, stopped on the track. Gravel was the only one to get close as Schuchart took the checkered flag leading by over 4 seconds, Gravel placed second and World of Outlaws points leader Brad Sweet passed Kerry Madsen, who won both preliminary nights, on Lap 19, to round out the podium.
Schuchart says he wanted to get his car back into victory lane.
"Really excited honestly. We've struggled a little bit this year you know we had two wins coming into this weekend and I was hoping to get one of those preliminary nights really. Ya know that first one was a real bummer getting passed there at the end cause I want to set ourselves up for the Saturday night show with it being a points system. Just really wanted to get this car back in Victory Lane."
Schuchart used the rain delay to evaluate things.
"Gave me some time to think about things really ya know you go off your notebook. I felt like we improved every time we hit the race track throughout the week and felt really confident about what we had going on just wanted to try to watch the racetrack, see what it was gonna do and kinda change our car to adapt to it. And not to overthink it too much. Ya know its easy to overthink things and kinda go in the wrong direction. Everybody worked hard and made sure this car was fast and stayed together and we were able to get the job done."
Next event at the Jackson Motorplex is World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series is the next race on July 9th and 10th.
