Katie Lange Commits to Augsburg
(Sherburn) Martin County West has another athlete who will wrestle at the next level but it may not be who you think it is. Katie Lange just announced where she will be going to college next year.
"So this last week I committed to Augsburg, which has the only female, like college female program in the Minnesota so I'll be wrestling with them."
Lange was awarded the Ms. Minnesota - Wrestling Award as the top senior female high school wrestler in the state. Lange recently won her first MN Girls High School State Championship and has been all in since coming back to the sport full time. She is not only successful on the mat but in the classroom as well. Lange carries a 4.00 GPA and is ranked first in her senior class. She is the recipient of the AAA award, holds the title of class president and is a member of the national honor society. She looks forward to wrestling at Augsburg and has already set high goals for herself.
"I've got to meet the teammates, or meet my teammates and practice with them so I know I am going to get like really good training so I am hoping that, I am kind of looking for a national championship when it comes to college next year."
She won’t be the only Maverick on campus at Augsburg next year as Blake and Lucas Jagodzinske have committed to Augsburg to wrestle for the men’s team.
