JCC Volleyball Wins First Match of the Season
The Jackson County Central volleyball team is 1-0 on the season. They traveled to Marshall on Saturday to play St. Peter in a Big South Conference matchup and won 3 to 0. The Huskies won the first game 25 to 6 but then struggled with defense in games 2 and 3 but still came out with the victory. They won game two 25 to 22 and game three 25 to 20. Emma Haren led the way with 16 kills, and she was 15 of 16 from the service line with four aces. She also had 12 digs. Brittany Arduser had 8 kills while Maci Farmer had 31 set assists and was 13 of 13 from the service line with two aces. Elese Paplow came in off the bench and was perfect from the service line going 14 of 14 with 5 aces. Alexis O’Reilly had 11 digs from the libero position. The Huskies travel to Okabena tomorrow for a match against HLO-F. Game time is at 7pm. Their first home match will be on Sept. 1st against Spirit Lake.
